Hastings Preschool is nestled in a heart of Hastings and is a valued part of the community.   Our program is play based and guided by the interests of the children. Kindergarten is a time for children to explore their own ideas, test their knowledge and shape their own understandings of the world in which we live. This is a year for self-discovery and developing the social and emotional skills that will shape their futures.

While we encourage the children’s ideas and input into the program and the experiences provided, we also provide guided teaching experiences. We believe that by providing a balance between self- directed learning and ‘teachable’ moments, we can provide a stimulating program that will engage the children’s desire to learn.

We provide a safe and supportive environment to ensure that children feel comfortable and confident to persist with a challenge and feel the satisfaction of achievement.

We have two large yet very different playground areas for the children to explore nature and the world around them. There is everything you need for the adventurous child!
